FBI Announces Brian Dugan as Assistant Director of the Training Division
Washington, D.C. – Today, the FBI announced the appointment of Brian Dugan as the Assistant Director of the Training Division (TDD). Dugan will lead the FBI’s efforts to train and develop the skills and knowledge of its workforce, ensuring that the FBI has the personnel it needs to meet its evolving mission requirements.
“Brian Dugan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Training Division,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “His leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that the FBI has the workforce it needs to execute its mission and continue to protect the nation.”
Dugan has served in the FBI for over 20 years. He has held a variety of leadership positions, including as the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Minneapolis Field Office and as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterterrorism Division. Dugan also served as the Acting Assistant Director of the TDD in 2021.
“I am honored and humbled to lead the Training Division,” said Dugan. “Training is essential to the FBI’s success, and I am committed to ensuring that our workforce has the skills and knowledge it needs to protect the nation.”
The TDD is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for all FBI employees. The division also provides training to other law enforcement agencies and members of the intelligence community. The TDD is located at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Dugan is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also holds a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University. Dugan is a member of the FBI’s Senior Executive Service.
Dugan assumed his new role on February 18, 2025.
