OTTAWA, February 18, 2025 – The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the launch of the Women Foreign Ministers’ Group (WFMG), a new international initiative to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in foreign policy and global affairs.
The WFMG is a group of women foreign ministers from around the world who are committed to working together to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment as a central pillar of foreign policy. The group will provide a platform for women foreign ministers to share best practices, develop innovative policies, and advocate for greater representation of women in leadership positions in the field of foreign affairs.
