London, 14 February 2025 – Sarah Albon, Chief Executive of the Insolvency Service, has today announced her intention to step down from her role later this year to take up a new position.
Albon has been in the role since 2018, leading the Insolvency Service through a period of significant change, including the introduction of the new Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020.
Under her leadership, the Insolvency Service has also played a crucial role in supporting businesses and individuals navigate the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a letter to staff, Albon said: “It has been an honour to lead the Insolvency Service over the past five years. The organisation plays a vital role in supporting businesses and individuals in financial difficulty, and I am proud of the work we have done to improve and modernise our services.”
