An Airman from the 31st Medical Group at Aviano Air Base, Italy, helped save the life of a skier who suffered a cardiac arrest while skiing in the Italian Alps.
Airman 1st Class Aiden Smith, a medical technician, was skiing with friends when he saw a man collapse on the slopes. Smith immediately rushed to the man’s side and began performing CPR.
“I saw the man fall and knew I had to act quickly,” said Smith. “I started CPR and continued until the ski patrol arrived.”
