The Government of Canada is committed to supporting economic growth and diversification in all regions of Canada, including Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Today, the Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport and Minister responsible for CED, announced financial support for four organizations in this region.
These organizations are receiving a total of $3,235,960 through CED’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program. This funding will allow them to implement projects that will stimulate innovation, increase productivity, and support job creation.
- Association de la construction du Saguenay−Lac-Saint-Jean (ACS): $1,000,000
This funding will support the development of a regional construction hub that will provide training, support services, and networking opportunities for businesses and workers in the sector.
- Centre de développement technologique du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (CDTS): $876,780
This investment will help the CDTS modernize its equipment and infrastructure to support the development and commercialization of innovative products and services.
- Corporation de développement économique de Lac-Saint-Jean-Est (CDELSJE): $840,000
This funding will support the creation of a regional innovation centre that will provide businesses with access to advanced technology and expertise.
- Parc technologique d’Alma (PTA): $519,180
This investment will allow the PTA to develop and market a new advanced manufacturing hub that will attract new businesses and create jobs.
“These projects will have a significant impact on the economic development of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean,” said Minister St-Onge. “They will stimulate innovation, increase productivity, and create good jobs for the people of this region.”
