UK Launches Flagship SPIRIT Programme to Drive Social Recovery in Ukraine
London, 7th February 2025 – The UK government has unveiled a new flagship programme, SPIRIT, to support the social recovery and resilience of Ukraine following the devastating war with Russia.
SPIRIT (Supporting Partnerships for Innovation, Resilience, Inclusivity, and Transformation) is a £100 million programme that aims to:
- Strengthen civil society organisations in Ukraine
- Build community resilience and social cohesion
- Promote inclusive economic growth
- Support the integration of internally displaced persons (IDPs)
- Enhance psychosocial support and mental health services
The programme will be implemented over the next three years and will work in close partnership with Ukrainian civil society organisations, local authorities, and international partners.
