This order imposes temporary traffic prohibitions and restrictions on the A40 Trunk Road in Monmouth, Monmouthshire. The order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and resurfacing works on the Gibraltar Tunnels.
The order will come into force on February 21, 2025 and will remain in force until March 10, 2025.
The following restrictions will be in place during the closure:
- The A40 Trunk Road will be closed in both directions between the A4042 Monmouth Road junction to the east and the B4293 Wonastow Road junction to the west.

Exemptions
The following vehicles are exempt from the restrictions:
- Vehicles used for police, fire and rescue services.
- Vehicles used for the maintenance of the A40 Trunk Road.
- Emergency services vehicles.
Penalties
Any person who contravenes the restrictions imposed by this order is liable to a fine not exceeding £1,000.
