Federal government invests in upgrades to the Tracadie-Sheila Curling Club
Tracadie-Sheila, NB – The Government of Canada is investing $299,000 to upgrade the Tracadie-Sheila Curling Club, as part of the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream (CCRIS) of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
“Investing in community infrastructure is vital to building inclusive and thriving communities where people want to live, work and raise a family,” said Gudie Hutchings, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Rural Economic Development and Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains. “This funding will help upgrade the Tracadie-Sheila Curling Club, enhancing its accessibility and ensuring it continues to serve as a hub for recreation and social activities in the community for years to come.”
The funding will be used to upgrade the curling club’s ice-making system, purchase a new Zamboni, and make accessibility upgrades to the facility, including the installation of an elevator and accessible washrooms. These upgrades will improve the overall safety and comfort of the curling club for all users, and will help to ensure that the club remains a vibrant and welcoming space for the community.
“We are very grateful for this investment from the Government of Canada,” said Gilles Haché, President of the Tracadie-Sheila Curling Club. “These upgrades will make our club more accessible, comfortable, and safe for all users, and will help to ensure that we can continue to provide a great curling experience for our members and visitors.”
The Government of Canada is investing more than $4 billion in Nova Scotia communities through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. This investment will help to improve public infrastructure, create jobs, and boost the economy.
“The Tracadie-Sheila Curling Club is an important part of the community, and these upgrades will help to ensure that it continues to serve the community for years to come,” said Brian Mulroney, MLA for Tracadie-Sheila. “This investment from the Government of Canada is a great example of how we are working together to build stronger communities across the province.”
