Ottawa, Ontario – The Government of Canada is investing in the cultural and economic development of western Newfoundland through investments in two community projects.
The first project is a $1 million investment in the Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital Museum, located in Norris Point. The museum is home to a collection of artifacts and documents that tell the story of the hospital and its role in the community. The investment will be used to upgrade the museum’s facilities, including its exhibits and accessibility features.
The second project is a $500,000 investment in the development of a new cultural centre in Rocky Harbour. The centre will provide a space for community events, performances, and exhibitions. It will also house a new library and archive.
