The Welsh Government has made an Order under sections 84(1)(a), (b) and (m) and 86(2) and (9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily prohibit overtaking and to impose a temporary 50 mph speed restriction on the A489 Trunk Road in Powys.
The Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway surfacing and lining works.
The Order will come into force on 24th January 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

No overtaking restriction from a point 42 metres south of the southern boundary of 104 Midland Sawmills, Glantwymyn to a point 845 south of the southern boundary of 104 Midland Sawmills, Glantwymyn.

50 mph speed restriction from a point 845 metres south of the southern boundary of 104 Midland Sawmills, Glantwymyn to a point 86 metres north of the northern boundary of Woodlands, Llanidloes.
The temporary speed restriction and no overtaking restriction will be indicated by traffic signs. Access for pedestrians and vehicles will be maintained at all times during the works.
