Saskatoon, SK – The Government of Canada announced today a $5 million investment through the Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) to support technology entrepreneurship at the University of Saskatchewan (USask).
This investment will establish a new Tech Accelerator Hub at the university, which will provide mentorship, training, and resources to help tech entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses.
“Our government is committed to supporting the growth of the tech sector in Western Canada,” said the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, Prairies and Economic Development and Minister Responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency. “This investment will help USask attract and retain top tech talent, and support the creation of new jobs and businesses in Saskatchewan.”
The Tech Accelerator Hub will be located in the new Innovation Place building at USask. The hub will provide entrepreneurs with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a co-working space, meeting rooms, and a prototyping lab.
