Over £450,000 from CEO and a senior executive confiscated
The National Crime Agency (NCA) has confiscated over £450,000 from the former CEO and a senior executive of a company that defrauded investors out of millions of pounds.
The NCA investigation found that the former CEO, David Ames, and the senior executive, Martin White, had received payments from the company that were not declared to investors.
Ames was sentenced to four years in prison in 2019 after he admitted defrauding investors out of £15 million. White was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in the fraud.
The NCA said that the confiscation order was a “significant result” and showed that it was committed to pursuing the proceeds of crime.
Gary Miles, Head of the NCA’s Economic Crime Command, said: “This is a significant result which demonstrates the NCA’s commitment to pursuing the proceeds of crime.
“We will continue to work with our partners to disrupt and dismantle organised crime groups and ensure that those who profit from their criminality are brought to justice.”
The NCA said that the confiscation order was made at a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on 28 November 2024.
