OTTAWA, ONT. – Today, The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services, on behalf of the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities, announced the allocation of $9 million in funding to Yukon through the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF).
This funding will support 11 projects across Yukon, including upgrades to community centres, playgrounds, and other public spaces. The projects will create jobs, stimulate local economies, and improve the quality of life for residents.
“This investment through the Canada Community-Building Fund will help Yukon communities build and improve the infrastructure they need to thrive,” said Hajdu. “These projects will create jobs, stimulate local economies, and make Yukon communities even more vibrant and livable.”
The CCBF is a $300 million federal fund that supports community-led infrastructure projects across Canada. The fund is designed to help communities build and improve public infrastructure that supports economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability.

The following projects in Yukon will receive funding through the CCBF:
- $2 million for the Whitehorse Public Library Expansion Project
- $1.5 million for the Yukon Arts Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $1 million for the Watson Lake Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $1 million for the Carcross Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $1 million for the Faro Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $1 million for the Teslin Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $500,000 for the Haines Junction Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $500,000 for the Beaver Creek Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $500,000 for the Mayo Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $500,000 for the Pelly Crossing Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
- $500,000 for the Carmacks Community Centre Expansion and Renovation Project
These projects are expected to be completed by 2026.
