Valencia branch resumes special procedure for exchanging cash damaged by the DANA
- November 15, 2024 – 07:15 AM
The Bank of Spain’s Valencia branch has resumed the special procedure for exchanging cash that was damaged by the torrential rains (DANA) that hit the Valencian Community in September 2019.
The procedure will be in effect from November 15, 2024, to March 15, 2025, and will allow individuals and businesses to exchange damaged cash for new bills or coins.
To exchange damaged cash, individuals and businesses must present it at the Bank of Spain’s Valencia branch, located at Calle Colón, 23. The branch will be open for this purpose on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
When exchanging damaged cash, it is important to note the following:
- The cash must be presented in its original form, even if it is torn or damaged.
- The total amount of damaged cash that can be exchanged is limited to €10,000 per person or business.
- The Bank of Spain will not exchange cash that is counterfeit or that has been intentionally damaged.
