The Foreign Secretary has today appointed the former Olympics Minister, Lord Colin Moynihan KBE DL, as the UK’s Special Representative on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict (PSVI).
Lord Collins will work with the UK’s partners, including other governments, international organisations, civil society and survivors, to drive international efforts to prevent sexual violence in conflict and support survivors.

Lord Collins has a long track record of working on this issue. He was the UK’s Special Envoy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, and he led the UK’s efforts to prevent sexual violence during the Games. He is also the founder of the Jo Cox Memorial Fund, which supports organisations working to prevent sexual violence in conflict.
The UK is a world leader in preventing sexual violence in conflict. The UK government has committed £220 million to this work since 2012, and it has deployed experts to support the UN and other organisations to prevent sexual violence and support survivors.
