Additional Information: The Department of Defense Suicide Prevention Office will release its Annual Report on Suicide in the Military for Calendar Year 2023 on November 14, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m. EST.
The report will provide an overview of suicide deaths among active duty and reserve component Service members, including demographic data, circumstances surrounding the deaths, and contributing factors.
The media roundtable will provide an opportunity for reporters to ask questions about the report and discuss its implications with senior DoD officials, including:
- Dr. Karin Orvis, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Health Protection and Readiness;
- Mr. Anthony J. Falvo, Director of the DoD Suicide Prevention Office; and
- Subject matter experts from the Military Services.
The DoD Suicide Prevention Office is committed to preventing suicide among Service members and their families and to providing support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.
