The Government of Canada is investing more than $1.4 million to support the fishing industry and preserve marine resources in the Magdalen Islands. This investment will help to create jobs, protect the environment, and strengthen the local economy.

The funding will be used to support a number of projects, including:
- $750,000 to purchase and install new equipment for the local fish processing plant, which will allow the plant to process more fish and increase its production capacity.
