Cheltenham-based drinks business, Cotswolds Drinks Company, has secured a £4.5 million deal to export its range of award-winning spirits to China.
The deal, which was brokered by the Department for International Trade (DIT), will see Cotswolds Drinks Company’s products stocked in over 1,000 stores across China.
Cotswolds Drinks Company was founded in 2014 by husband and wife team, James and Hayley Parsons. The company produces a range of spirits, including gin, vodka, and rum, which are all made using locally sourced ingredients.
The company’s products have won a number of awards, including a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
James Parsons said: “This is a major milestone for our business and we are delighted to have secured this deal. China is a huge market and we believe that our products have the potential to be very successful there.”
Hayley Parsons added: “We are grateful to the DIT for their support in helping us to secure this deal. Their expertise and knowledge of the Chinese market has been invaluable.”
