OTTAWA – The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Health, today announced the following appointments to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
Board of Directors:
Roland Rat */ Mistissini, Quebec
Mr. Rat is the former chief of the Mistissini Cree Nation. He has over 30 years of experience in Indigenous governance and has held numerous leadership positions at the local, provincial, and national levels. Mr. Rat is a strong advocate for the health and safety of Indigenous workers and has been involved in developing and implementing occupational health and safety programs in Indigenous communities.
Catherine Roome */ Ottawa, Ontario
Ms. Roome is a registered professional engineer with over 25 years of experience in the occupational health and safety field. She is currently the Director of Health and Safety for the City of Ottawa. Ms. Roome has a strong track record of developing and implementing innovative occupational health and safety programs and is a recognized expert in the field.
Dr. Shahzad Malik */ Toronto, Ontario
