Ottawa, Ontario – November 8, 2024 – The Governments of Canada and the Northwest Territories will make a major infrastructure investment announcement in critical minerals in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories on Friday, November 10, 2024.
The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, and the Honourable Caroline Wawzonek, Northwest Territories Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment, will provide details of the investment and highlight the importance of Canada’s critical minerals sector to the clean energy transition.
Canada has an abundance of critical minerals, such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel, which are essential for the production of electric vehicle batteries, solar panels, and other clean energy technologies.
