Washington, D.C. — Robert K. Tripp has been named Assistant Director of the Human Resources Division (HRD) for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), effective February 18, 2025.

As Assistant Director of HRD, Tripp will be responsible for leading the Division’s efforts to recruit, develop, and retain a workforce that is diverse, skilled, and committed to the FBI’s mission. He will oversee a team of professionals who manage all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, labor relations, and benefits administration.

“Robert Tripp is a highly accomplished human resources executive with a proven track record of success in leading large-scale organizations,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “His expertise and passion for developing talent will be invaluable to the FBI as we continue to build a world-class workforce.”

Tripp brings to the FBI more than 25 years of experience in human resources management. He most recently served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he was responsible for overseeing a workforce of more than 80,000 employees.

Prior to joining HHS, Tripp held senior human resources roles at the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice. He also served as a human resources consultant for several private-sector organizations.

Tripp holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

“I am honored to join the FBI and lead the Human Resources Division,” said Tripp. “I am committed to working with the HRD team to create a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and rewarding for every employee.”

Tripp will be based at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
