The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Dugan as the Assistant Director of the Training Division, effective immediately. Mr. Dugan will oversee the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and all training programs for FBI personnel.

Mr. Dugan has a distinguished career in law enforcement, spanning over 30 years. He began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1995, where he served in various field offices, including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. In 2015, he was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent and served as the Chief of the Counterintelligence Division at FBI Headquarters.

In 2018, Mr. Dugan was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Training Division. In this role, he was responsible for the development and implementation of training programs for new and experienced FBI agents, as well as for law enforcement officers from partner agencies.

As Assistant Director of the Training Division, Mr. Dugan will lead the FBI’s efforts to provide world-class training that prepares FBI personnel to meet the evolving challenges of the 21st century. He will work closely with the FBI Academy staff to ensure that training programs are innovative, relevant, and tailored to the needs of the FBI.

Mr. Dugan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the FBI Senior Leadership Program.
