OTTAWA, ON – The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, will travel to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam from February 19 to 23, 2025, to promote Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.
Minister Ng will meet with government officials, business leaders and civil society organizations to discuss ways to strengthen Canada’s economic ties with the region. She will also promote Canada’s commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
“Canada is committed to building stronger relationships with our partners in the Indo-Pacific region,” said Minister Ng. “During my visit, I will be promoting Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and exploring new opportunities for Canadian businesses in the region.”
Minister Ng’s visit to Singapore will include meetings with Senior Minister and Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan. She will also deliver a speech to the Singapore Business Federation.
In Brunei Darussalam, Minister Ng will meet with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam, and Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato Erywan Yusof.
