Leuchars Station medical and dental centre marks major construction milestone
A new state-of-the-art medical and dental centre at Leuchars Station has reached a major construction milestone.
The steel frame of the new building is now complete, marking a significant step forward in the delivery of the £28 million facility.
The centre will provide a range of primary and urgent healthcare services to the military personnel and their families based at Leuchars Station, as well as the wider community.
It will include a GP practice, dental practice, physiotherapy and podiatry services, and a minor injuries unit.
The new centre is expected to be completed in early 2024.
Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) project manager, Alistair Hadden, said: “This is a significant milestone in the delivery of this important new facility for the Leuchars Station community.
“The new medical and dental centre will provide a modern and accessible space for the delivery of a range of healthcare services.
“We are working closely with our contractors, Hub East Central, to ensure that the centre is completed to the highest possible standard and on time.”
Hub East Central project director, Euan Macdonald, said: “We are delighted to have reached this important milestone in the construction of the new medical and dental centre at Leuchars Station.
“The steel frame is now complete, and the building is starting to take shape.
“We are on track to complete the centre in early 2024, and we look forward to handing over this important facility to the military community.”
