ROME – The Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Matteo Salvini, met today at Palazzo Vidoni with the representatives of ANCE, the National Association of Building Contractors, to discuss the novelties of the Building Information Modeling (BIM).
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Galeazzo Bignami, the President of ANCE, Federica Brancaccio, the General Manager of ANCE, Flavio Monosilio, and the Director of the Digital Innovation and BIM Observatory of ANCE, Daniele Mariani.
During the meeting, the Minister and the representatives of ANCE discussed the implementation of the National Digital Agenda for Construction (ANDiC), which provides for the mandatory use of BIM for all public works starting from 2025.
The Minister stressed the importance of digitalization for the construction sector, highlighting that it can lead to significant improvements in terms of efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
“The use of BIM is a fundamental step towards the digitalization of the construction sector,” said Minister Salvini. “It will allow us to improve the quality of our infrastructure, reduce costs, and make our construction sites more efficient.”
The President of ANCE, Federica Brancaccio, welcomed the Minister’s commitment to digitalization and expressed the association’s support for the implementation of ANDiC.
“We are convinced that BIM is a key technology for the future of the construction sector,” said Brancaccio. “We are ready to work with the Government to ensure a smooth transition to digitalization.”
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the possibility of extending the use of BIM to private construction, as well as the need to provide training and support to companies in the sector.
