Edmonton, AB – February 11, 2025 – Today, the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Economic Development and Western Economic Diversification, announced a federal investment of $10 million to support Edmonton companies in scaling up and accessing new markets.
The funding will be delivered through the Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) Regional Innovation Ecosystems (RIE) program. The RIE program supports the development of strong and sustainable innovation ecosystems in Western Canada by providing funding for projects that bring together businesses, academia, and community organizations.
“Our government is committed to supporting the growth of businesses in Edmonton and across Western Canada,” said Minister Hajdu. “This investment will help Edmonton companies scale up and access new markets, creating jobs and economic growth in the region.”
