Dame Sue Owen reappointed as Non-Executive Chair of the UK Debt Management Office Advisory Board

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, has reappointed Dame Sue Owen as Non-Executive Chair of the UK Debt Management Office Advisory Board for a second term of three years, commencing on 1 March 2025.
Dame Sue has been Chair of the Advisory Board since March 2022 and will continue to provide independent advice and challenge on the DMO’s funding strategy, risk management and market engagement.
The DMO is responsible for managing the UK’s public debt and cash requirements in the most cost-effective and risk-averse manner.
Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, said:
I am delighted to reappoint Dame Sue Owen as Chair of the DMO Advisory Board. Dame Sue brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and I am confident that she will continue to provide valuable advice and challenge to the DMO.

Dame Sue Owen is a former Permanent Secretary to the Treasury and former Chair of the Financial Reporting Council.
The DMO Advisory Board is a non-statutory body which provides independent advice and challenge to the DMO on its strategy and operations. The Board is chaired by a Non-Executive Chair and comprises a mix of external experts and DMO staff.
