Lesley brings over 30 years of experience in senior positions in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to the role. She was previously Permanent Secretary in the Department for Constitutional Affairs and Lord Chancellor’s Department and Chief Executive of the Home Office. She is currently Chair of the Legal Services Board, the independent regulator for the legal services market in England and Wales.
Commenting on her appointment, Lesley said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed as Chair of the Board of the Office of the Public Guardian. The OPG plays a vital role in protecting the interests of vulnerable people by making decisions about their property and financial affairs. I am committed to working with the Board and the OPG team to continue to improve the quality of service provided to the public.”
