January 27, 2025 – Mayor Muriel Bowser today launched applications for the 2025 Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The program provides District youth ages 14-24 with paid summer employment opportunities to gain valuable work experience while developing essential skills and earning a paycheck.
“Our Summer Youth Employment Program is a critical investment in our young people and our city’s future,” said Mayor Bowser. “Summer jobs provide our students with hands-on experience, help them develop their skills, and connect them to career pathways that will prepare them for success in college and the workforce.”

Eligibility Requirements:

Beginning January 30, 2025, interested applicants can apply online at summerjobs.dc.gov. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.
