Change of Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Costa Rica and to the Republic of Nicaragua
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has announced that Sarah-Jane Morris will be the next Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Costa Rica and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Nicaragua. She will succeed Ben Lyster-Binns, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
Sarah-Jane Morris was a Director in the FCDO Asia Pacific Group (2020-2022). Prior to this, she was Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia (2016-2020) and Her Majesty’s Consul-General in Istanbul, Turkey (2012-2016). Other roles she has held include Deputy Head of Department for Afghanistan and Pakistan (2009-2011) and Director of the Middle East and North Africa Strategic Planning Team (2007-2008).
Sarah-Jane Morris studied at the University of Manchester and, before joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, worked as a Chartered Accountant.
Sarah-Jane Morris is expected to take up her appointment in June 2023.
