Membership of New Visitor Economy Advisory Council Announced

The government has today announced the membership of the new Visitor Economy Advisory Council (VEAC).
The VEAC will provide expert advice to the government on how to grow the visitor economy and ensure that it continues to be a key driver of economic growth and job creation.
The council will be chaired by Nigel Huddleston, Minister for Tourism and Sport. The members are:
- Adam Afriyie, Chief Executive, Tech Nation
- Dame Inga Beale, Former Chief Executive, Lloyds Banking Group
- Tom Bloxham, Chief Executive, VisitBritain
- Dame Helen Ghosh, Director General, National Trust
- Ros Kerslake CBE, Chief Executive, Historic England
- Chris Moth, Chief Executive, VisitEngland
- Professor Diane Coyle CBE, Bennett Professor of Public Policy, University of Cambridge
- Tom Sharp, Chief Executive, Totally Plc
- Sir Peter Wanless, Former Chief Executive, NSPCC
The VEAC will meet for the first time in February 2025.
Minister for Tourism and Sport Nigel Huddleston said:
“The visitor economy is a vital part of the UK economy, and I am delighted to announce the membership of the new Visitor Economy Advisory Council.
“The council will provide expert advice on how to grow the visitor economy and ensure that it continues to be a key driver of economic growth and job creation.
“I am confident that the council will make a significant contribution to the success of the visitor economy.”
Chair of the Visitor Economy Advisory Council Nigel Huddleston said:
“I am honored to chair the Visitor Economy Advisory Council. The council will bring together a wealth of experience and expertise from across the visitor economy sector.
“We will work closely with the government to develop and implement policies that will help the visitor economy to grow and thrive.”
