NASA Seeks Proposals for Space Biology and Physical Sciences Research
January 15, 2025
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking proposals for research that will advance our understanding of the effects of spaceflight on human health and the physical sciences. This research will help us develop new technologies and strategies to mitigate the risks of future space exploration missions.
Proposals are due by March 27, 2025.
Research Areas
NASA is interested in research in the following areas:
- Space Biology:
- The effects of spaceflight on human health, including bone loss, muscle atrophy, and radiation exposure.
- The development of new technologies and strategies to mitigate the risks of spaceflight on human health.
- The study of the effects of spaceflight on animal and plant models.
- Physical Sciences:
- The development of new materials and technologies for use in space.
- The study of the fundamental physics of space, including the effects of gravity and radiation.
- The development of new methods for measuring and monitoring the effects of spaceflight on humans and materials.
Funding
NASA will award approximately $10 million in grants for this research. Grants will be for up to three years.
Eligibility
Proposals may be submitted by U.S. institutions, including universities, non-profit organizations, and private companies.
