Job Description:
The German Bundestag is the legislative body of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Parliamentary Archives are responsible for the documentation of the work of the Bundestag, its committees and its members. The Archives provide access to documents, photographs, videos and audio recordings of parliamentary proceedings and activities.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Documentarian (M/F/D) to join our team at the Parliamentary Archives in Berlin.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation of parliamentary proceedings and activities
- Digitization and indexing of documents, photographs, videos and audio recordings
- Provision of access to archival materials for researchers and the public
- Collaboration with staff members of the Bundestag and external institutions
- Development and implementation of archival policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- University degree in history, archives or a related field
- Excellent knowledge of archival theory and practice
- Experience in documentation and digitization of archival materials
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in German and English
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the German Bundestag and its history
- Experience in working with historical documents
- Ability to read and understand Latin
- Proficiency in French or another foreign language
