The amendment also authorizes federal funding for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects at 90% federal cost to state, tribal, and local governments, and nonprofit organizations.
The disaster declaration also allows federal agencies to coordinate disaster relief efforts with the state and affected local governments, as well as provide appropriate assistance for the restoration of essential services.
Federal funding is also available to reimburse eligible applicants for the cost of debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the repair or replacement of damaged facilities.
Disaster recovery assistance is available without regard to race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, disability, economic status, or geographic location.
