Washington, D.C. – The Department of Defense (DOD) announced today that it has partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other interagency partners to provide assistance to communities recovering from wildfires.

The DOD will provide personnel, equipment, and resources to support FEMA’s wildfire response efforts. This includes providing firefighters, engineers, and medical personnel to assist with firefighting, debris removal, and recovery operations.

The DOD will also provide aerial support for firefighting efforts, including water drops and reconnaissance flights. The DOD will also provide logistical support, such as transportation and warehousing, to help distribute supplies to affected communities.
