Berlin, December 19, 2024 – The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) have agreed on funding for the national Olympic summer sports associations for the year 2025. A total of 41 million euros will be provided to support the associations in their preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The funding will be distributed among the 27 national Olympic summer sports associations based on their performance at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and their plans for the upcoming Olympic cycle. The largest share of the funding will go to the German Swimming Federation (DSV), which will receive 6.5 million euros. The German Athletics Federation (DLV) will receive 5.5 million euros, and the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) will receive 4.5 million euros.
The funding will be used to support the associations’ training and competition programs, as well as their athlete development and coaching initiatives. The DOSB and the BMI hope that the funding will help the associations to continue their success at the Olympic Games and to inspire young athletes to pursue their dreams of competing at the highest level.
