The following appointments were made to the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench:

Madam Justice Veit received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta in 1994 and a Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003. She was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1995. Madam Justice Veit has practiced law in both private practice and as in-house counsel, specializing in employment and labour law. She has also served as an adjudicator with the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal and as a mediator.
  • The Honourable Stephen R. Phillips is appointed a Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta. Mr. Justice Phillips received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in 1990 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa in 1994.
