In Poland, Minister Blair will visit the Canadian Air Task Force in Powidz, where he will meet with CAF personnel and receive an update on the mission. He will also meet with Polish Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and Canada’s support for Ukraine.

Canada has been a leading contributor to NATO missions in Latvia and Poland since 2017. The Canadian-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group in Latvia is comprised of approximately 1,000 troops from Canada, Albania, Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The Canadian Air Task Force in Poland consists of approximately 150 personnel and six CF-18 fighter jets.
