Throughout the year, CBSA officers in the Pacific Region seized:

  • 18,321 tobacco seizures, including cigarettes and cigars;
  • 2,876 currency seizures, totaling over $11 million in Canadian and foreign currency;
  • 1,459 alcohol seizures, including beer, wine, and spirits.

In addition to these seizures, CBSA officers also made 140 criminal arrests and issued 6,543 penalty notices for violations of the Customs Act, Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and other legislation.
