Edward Stringer Reappointed as Trustee of the Imperial War Museum
London – Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan has reappointed Edward Stringer as a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum.
The Imperial War Museum (IWM) tells the story of people who have lived, fought and died in conflicts involving Britain and the Commonwealth since the First World War.
Edward Stringer is a barrister specialising in media and intellectual property law. He has held a number of public appointments, including as Chair of the Digital Copyright Exchange and as a member of the Advisory Committee on Advertising.
Mr Stringer’s reappointment will be for a period of four years from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2026.
Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan said:
“I am delighted to reappoint Edward Stringer as a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, and I am confident that he will continue to make a valuable contribution to the work of the Museum.”
IWM Chair Sir Ian Gibson said:
“I am very pleased that Edward Stringer has agreed to serve a second term as a Trustee of the Imperial War Museum. His expertise in media and intellectual property law has been invaluable to the Museum, and I look forward to continuing to work with him over the next four years.”
Biographical details
Edward Stringer is a barrister specialising in media and intellectual property law. He is a member of Blackstone Chambers and is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford.
Mr Stringer has held a number of public appointments, including as Chair of the Digital Copyright Exchange and as a member of the Advisory Committee on Advertising. He is also a member of the Council of the Society of Authors and the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee of the British Library.
Mr Stringer is a graduate of the University of Oxford and the University of London.
