Ottawa, ON – Today, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, announced the creation of Canada’s first Women Veterans Council.
The Council will be a national, advisory body that will provide advice to the Minister on issues affecting women Veterans. It will be composed of up to 15 members, all of whom will be women Veterans.
“Women Veterans have a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing those who have served our country,” said Minister MacAulay. “This Council will provide a valuable platform for them to share their experiences and insights, and to help us better serve all Veterans.”
The Council will be responsible for:
