The second meeting of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge Industry Steering Board (ISB) took place on 29 November 2024 in Kyiv. The ISB is a joint initiative between the UK and Ukrainian governments to promote collaboration between the two countries’ tech sectors.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Serhiy Kuryanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and Mr. Ian Murray, UK Minister of State for Digital Infrastructure.
The ISB discussed the progress made since its inaugural meeting in July 2024, and agreed on a number of key priorities for the coming year. These include:
- Enhancing collaboration between UK and Ukrainian tech businesses. The ISB will work to create opportunities for UK and Ukrainian tech companies to partner with each other, and to access new markets.
- Developing joint research and development projects. The ISB will support joint research and development projects between UK and Ukrainian universities and research institutions.
- Promoting skills development and training. The ISB will work to develop training programs and other initiatives to help upskill the tech workforce in both countries.
- Attracting investment to the Ukrainian tech sector. The ISB will work to attract investment from UK and international investors to the Ukrainian tech sector.
The ISB also welcomed the launch of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge Fund, a £10 million fund that will provide grants to support collaboration between UK and Ukrainian tech businesses.
The ISB is committed to working closely with the UK and Ukrainian governments, as well as with the private sector, to support the growth of the tech sector in both countries.
