Ottawa, Ontario – The Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick today announced a joint investment of $100 million to support improvements to infrastructure, innovation and science partnerships in the fish and seafood sector.
The investment will be used to:

- Enhance research and development
- Support innovation and technology adoption
- Increase market access and trade opportunities

The investment will be administered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

The fish and seafood sector is a major economic driver in New Brunswick, with an estimated value of $1.5 billion annually. The sector employs approximately 15,000 people in the province.
