Ottawa, Ontario – The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will participate in the following events on Sunday, November 10, 2024, as part of Veterans’ Week:
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wreath-laying Ceremony at the National War Memorial Wellington Street, Ottawa
Minister MacAulay will join Governor General Mary Simon, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and other dignitaries to lay a wreath at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The ceremony will commemorate the sacrifices made by Canadian Veterans and fallen members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
1:00 p.m. Veteran’s Walk of Honour National War Memorial, Ottawa
Minister MacAulay will speak at the Veteran’s Walk of Honour, where Veterans and members of the public will be invited to walk a path lined with Canadian flags to honour the memory of our Veterans.
2:30 p.m. Reception at the Canadian War Museum 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa
Minister MacAulay will host a reception at the Canadian War Museum to thank Veterans for their service and sacrifice. The reception will feature music, refreshments, and an opportunity for Veterans to mingle with dignitaries and members of the public.
