Sellafield Ltd has welcomed its largest ever intake of young workers to its Warrington office.
The 22 apprentices and graduates will join Sellafield’s decommissioning, fuel and waste management and nuclear new build divisions.
They will work across a range of disciplines, including engineering, science, project management and finance.
Sellafield’s chief executive officer, Martin Chown, said: “I am delighted to welcome our new apprentices and graduates to Sellafield. They are the future of our business and will play a vital role in delivering our mission of decommissioning the Sellafield site safely, securely and cost-effectively.
“We are committed to developing the next generation of nuclear workers and our apprenticeship and graduate schemes are a key part of that. We offer a unique opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced professionals in the industry and to work on some of the most challenging and rewarding projects in the world.”
The new apprentices and graduates will be based at Sellafield’s Warrington office, which is home to around 1,000 employees. The office is responsible for a range of activities, including project management, engineering, procurement and supply chain management.
