The Scottish Ministers have made The A83 Trunk Road (Ardrishaig) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) (No. 2) Order 2024. This Order will come into operation on 11 November 2024 and will have effect for a period of up to 18 months.
The Order is made for the purpose of facilitating the carrying out of road improvement works on the A83 trunk road in the vicinity of Ardrishaig. The works will be carried out in two phases.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of the works will begin on or around 11 November 2024 and is expected to be completed by 23 December 2024. During this phase, a section of the A83 trunk road between the junction with the A816 road and the junction with the B8000 road will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Phase 2
Phase 2 of the works will begin on or around 9 January 2025 and is expected to be completed by 31 March 2025. During this phase, a section of the A83 trunk road between the junction with the B8000 road and the junction with the A816 road will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Alternative Routes
During both phases of the works, traffic will be diverted via the A816 road, the B840 road and the B8000 road.
Exemptions
The Order contains a number of exemptions, including for:
- Emergency vehicles
- Public service vehicles
- Vehicles being used for the purposes of the works
- Vehicles requiring access to premises adjacent to the closed road
