London, 1 November 2024 – The Office of Communications (Ofcom) today announced the appointment of Tamara Ingram as Deputy Chair of its Board.

Ms Ingram is a highly experienced executive with a strong track record in the media and technology sectors. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Creative Industries Federation, the UK’s leading trade association for the creative industries.

Prior to joining the Creative Industries Federation, Ms Ingram held senior roles at a number of leading media organisations, including Channel 4, the BBC and ITV. She also served as a Trustee of the Arts Council England and the National Theatre.

In her new role at Ofcom, Ms Ingram will work closely with Chair Melanie Dawes to lead the Board and oversee the organisation’s work to regulate the UK’s communications markets.

Ofcom is an independent regulator that ensures that the UK’s communications, content and data markets are fair, competitive and innovative. It also regulates the broadcasting of TV and radio services and the provision of fixed and mobile phone services.

Ms Ingram’s appointment is subject to the approval of the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
