Notice

The A83 Trunk Road (Cairndow) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2024 has been made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. This Order will come into force at 12:01am on 1st November 2024 and will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting the use of the A83 Trunk Road at Cairndow, Argyll and Bute, for all vehicular traffic.

Reason for restriction

This restriction is in place to allow for the safe installation of a new water main.

Alternative Route

Whilst the restriction is in place traffic will be diverted via the A814 and A819.

Exemptions

Vehicles used for police, fire and rescue services and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the restriction.

Duration

The restriction will be in place for a period of 5 days from 12:01am on 1st November 2024. However, the restriction may be lifted earlier or extended for a further period of up to 5 days if necessary.
