The Government has appointed The Honourable Mr Justice Jeremy Baker as the new Judicial Member for the Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB).
The SSRB is an independent body that makes recommendations to the Prime Minister on the pay and pensions of senior public sector officials, including judges, senior civil servants, and members of the armed forces.
Mr Justice Baker is a High Court Judge, and was previously a Recorder and a Deputy High Court Judge. He has also served as a member of the Judicial Appointments Commission.
In his new role, Mr Justice Baker will be responsible for representing the judicial perspective on the SSRB’s work. He will also be involved in developing the SSRB’s recommendations on the pay and pensions of senior judges.
The SSRB is chaired by Sir Michael Barber, and its other members include:
