The Office for Value for Money (OVFM) has announced the appointment of David Goldstone CBE as its new independent Chair. Mr Goldstone will take up the role on 1 November 2024 and will serve for a five-year term.
Mr Goldstone is a former Chief Executive of the National Audit Office and has a wealth of experience in public finance and value for money assurance. He is currently the Chair of Audit Scotland and a member of the Public Audit and Governance Committee.
The OVFM is an independent body that provides assurance that public money is being spent in a way that achieves value for money. It reviews the government’s spending plans and monitors how well government departments are delivering their objectives.
